THE END OF AN ERA: Urban Dead to Conclude After Two Decades

The popular browser-based MMO, Urban Dead, announces its definitive closure after nearly 20 years of operation.
This unique game offered players the chance to embody both survivors and zombies in the fictional city of Malton, enjoying real-time experiences.
The decision to close the game on March 14 is attributed to new regulations in the United Kingdom that compromise the sustainability of the project.
Although no major final event is planned, former players are expected to gather to bid the game farewell.
Additionally, the closure of another game by the same creator, called "Chores", was announced.
Urban Dead was a free-to-play multiplayer browser-based game, launched in July 2005, where users could be either survivors or victims of a zombie outbreak in the center of a quarantined city.
From its inception, it provided a platform for apocalyptic adventures until its closure in March 2025, at which point it will no longer be playable.
